What We Do

Annie is currently......  

  • Working with the Gillygate Ghana Health Link which acts in partnership with the health district of Fanteakwa, a region in Eastern Ghana and whose aim is to support the improvement of patient care in the area.  She has recently returned from a working visit to Fanteakwa where she was a part of a clinical and research team from the Gillygate Surgery in York, looking at best clinical practice, usage and non-usage by patients of rural clinics, engaging with the local elders and community to identify their priorities for clinical services and analysing the collection and use of data by the clinics in informing health policy and practice
  • Working with a major Probation Trust through a leadership programme and an organisational review to develop its culture in the rapidly changing external context that all Probation Trusts are facing
  • Leading a team developing the organisational and leadership capabilities of a European bank
  • Working with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Malawi to develop its leadership team to drive a change management programme across the education sector of Malawi
  • Working with a private sector telecoms company to develop its senior managers, and to support it to develop an environment that facilitates and drives a greater degree of flexibility, agility, innovation and empowerment
  • Coaching clients in Europe and using the wonders of Skype to coach clients in Afghanistan, Viet Nam and Malawi
  • And getting excited at the prospect of the London Olympics for which she has tickets and has just heard she has been accepted as one of the 8000 Olympic Volunteers

    Howard is currently...... concentrating his work activity in a range of organisational and people development projects within the NHS. 

    These include:  

  • Supporting a PCT in the north-west of England with the transition of its functions to Clinical Commissioning Groups, commissioning support functions, and the NHS Commissioning Board between now and April 2013
  • Supporting a joint initiative between a PCT and a local authority in the north-west of England to celebrate the Olympic Torch Relay in June 2012 with a range of community events and projects
  • Facilitating action learning sets in the north-east of England to support the development of Pathology services
  • Supporting the development of action learning sets for Healthcare Scientists
  • Facilitating action learning sets in the north-west of England to support the development of informatics staff
  • Working with a group of healthcare professionals to develop more effective ongoing life and work support for cancer survivors
  • Providing one-to-one coaching to a number of health service managers to support them through the current NHS reforms
  • Delivering a number of leadership and management development programmes for health and social care managers.

    Peter is currently ………

  • Carrying out a national review of Prison Library Services coordinated by a steering group led by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills
  • Working with the North East Regional Faiths Network, The Churches Regional Commission and the Government Office in the North East to develop a strategic approach to Inter-Faith Engagement for regional Local Authorities
  • Working with an Action Learning Set with the Voluntary and Community Sectors to tackle health inequalities and a neighbourhood approach to community engagement with statutory agencies on behalf of NHS Tyne and Wear. 

Sandy is currently ......

  • Working with clusters of primary and secondary schools to help embed the global dimension in the curriculum  - developing opportunities for critical thinking amongst pupils and teachers around the 8 key concepts of the Global Dimension; Social Justice, Human Rights, Global Citizenship,  Diversity, Conflict Resolution, Interdependence, Sustainable Development, Values and Perceptions
  • Assisting schools to develop strategies involving the whole school community on how to become a sustainable school in terms of its water and energy use 
  • Working with community workers/educators to identify the hooks and develop strategies that will encourage communities to take environmental action.

 Sandy and Davina have recently.....

completed two projects evaluating the impact of the Global Schools Award for the Development Education Centres in Yorkshire & Humberside and the Local Learning Networks of Schools for the North West Education Network. In the latter we incorporated the Most Significant Change methodology.
