What We Do

Annie is currently......

  • working with probation services in the Yorkshire and Humberside Region to support their transition to becoming Trusts.  She is working with both board members and senior managers to help them identify their roles in the future structures, and to develop the best ways of working to become successful Trust organisations come April 2010
  • supporting 3 DFID offices in sub-Saharan Africa on organisational development and management development programmes.  These offices want to focus on really effective use of British tax payers money to help alleviate poverty in Africa and Annie is working with them on developing local staff to take on more senior roles, and ensuring value for money in all their programmes and service provision
  • undertaking research into what makes successful coaching cultures in organisations – how they can best gain the benefit of developing leaders through one to one and team coaching
  • about to start working with the National Police Improvement Agency to develop the leadership and management capabilities of senior police staff in the north of England and in London

Howard is currently......

  • Facilitating a number of NHS action learning sets - some of these are taking action and learning about specific service improvement issues such as modernising pathology services; others are helping health and social care managers with their personal development
  • Organising a conference on behalf of the Institute of Healthcare Management on the theme of quality improvement in the NHS
  • Delivering a 15 month University accredited Leadership and Management Development Programme for a group of senior/middle-level managers in health and social care
  • Working as an Organisational Development Consultant supporting a PCT with their World Class Commissioning OD plans
  • Acting as a Coach to a number of Health Service managers

  Sandy is currently ......
 
working with clusters of primary and secondary schools to help embed the global dimension in the curriculum  - developing opportunities for critical thinking amongst pupils and teachers around the 8 key concepts of the Global Dimension; Social Justice, Human Rights, Global Citizenship,  Diversity, Conflict Resolution, Interdependence, Sustainable Development, Values and Perceptions
 
Assisting schools to develop strategies involving the whole school community on how to become a sustainable school in terms of its water and energy use 
 
Working with community workers/educators to identify the hooks and develop strategies that will encourage communities to take environmental action.

Working with Davina on evaluating the impact of the Global Schools Award for the Development Education Centres in Yorkshire & Humberside using the Most Significant Change methodology. 

Davina is currently......

 doing some part-time teaching in the Education Department at Bolton University and commencing some evaluation work with Sandy Carter (see above). She is advising on an action-led learning process for sustainability being implemented in a ‘Skills in the Workplace’ research project at Manchester University.

Peter is currently ………

  1. Carrying out a national review of Prison Library Services coordinated by a steering group led by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills
  2. Working with the North East Regional Faiths Network, The Churches Regional Commission and the Government Office in the North East to develop a strategic approach to Inter-Faith Engagement for regional Local Authorities
  3. Working with an Action Learning Set with the Voluntary and Community Sectors to tackle health inequalities and a neighbourhood approach to community engagement with statutory agencies on behalf of NHS Tyne and Wear.
